The next closest airport is Bob Hope Airport ( IATA: BUR) in Burbank, approximately one hour's drive to the South, and is served by most major domestic carriers. Palmdale Regional Airport ( IATA: PMD) was served by United Airlines, but currently has no scheduled service. But you can also order "chicken" chow mein, "shrimp" and even "beef" courses with a delicious vegan substitute!
One of the surprising options is orange chicken - a dining staple. In case you're wondering what that means, be sure and ask for vegan alternatives to just about every meat option in their offerings. Since Golden Lake closed, I have searched in vain for a reasonable. They truly spoiled us and set the bar on how fresh and tasty restaurant/take-out Chinese food can be.
